What is soft wash roof cleaning?
Soft wash roof cleaning removes the black streaks from a roof with a cleaning solution instead of water pressure. The streaks are algae and other organic growth, and they keep spreading if they are left alone. Meyer Pressure Washing applies sodium hypochlorite from the ground through a blend manifold that mixes it to match the growth: the blacker and older the staining, the stronger the mix. It sits for 20 to 30 minutes, the roof is rinsed and checked, and stubborn areas get a second treatment and a final rinse. Nobody walks the shingles, no ladders lean on the gutters and no pressure touches the roof, because a pressure washer strips the granules that protect asphalt shingles. A pressure washer absolutely cannot be used on asphalt shingle roofs or most tile roofs.
Water and cover the landscaping

Mix to match the roof
A blend manifold mixes the cleaner remotely to the strength the growth calls for. The blacker and older the staining, the stronger the mix.
Apply and wait
The cleaner goes on and sits for 20 to 30 minutes. It has a strong smell while it works.
Rinse and inspect
Rinsing shows any stubborn areas or anything that was missed.

Why roof washing never uses pressure
Pressure strips the granules that protect asphalt shingles. Roofs are cleaned with sodium hypochlorite at the right strength, which removes the growth and leaves the shingle alone.
