How pricing works

What a soft wash removes

The green film on the shaded side, the dark streaks under the eaves and the dirt along the foundation are mostly organic growth. A low-strength cleaner goes on, sits for about 15 minutes and is rinsed off from the top down, so water is never driven up behind the siding or into the soffits.

Brick, stone and vinyl are handled differently

Brick can take some pressure, but only some, and it gets a cleaner chosen for what is on the wall. Vinyl gets no pressure at all. Limestone sills and caps take their own product. Brian sorts out which surface gets what during the walk-through.

Landscaping comes first

East End homes tend to have mature beds and expensive plantings. Everything green is soaked before any cleaner comes out, one person keeps it watered for the whole job, bushes are tarped, outlets are taped and cars are moved out of the way.

How Brian does house washing, step by step

It's easy to have $10,000, $20,000 in a few bushes these days.
